Have you taken the time to know the origin of your favorite chocolate? Do you know you can make your chocolate at home? These are among the answers we reply to in our blog. We demystify myths; we equip you with knowledge on the benefits. We talk about not just chocolate but fine chocolate.  Its origin, ingredients, and types, as well as the reason you need a chocolate bar at home.  The processed chocolate you buy from the shelves is not fine chocolate.

The chocolate origin

The history of chocolate dates back to Mexico in 450 BC among the Aztecs. They used it as a form of currency. Its value classified the “haves” and the “have nots” in society at that time. Over time, the brewing and processing moved to different parts of the world to come up with the different types of chocolate found in contemporary society. As chocolate professionals, our core mandate to educate you on the pleasure of consuming fine chocolate. An academy is a school unit in its own right. Our constant educative posts furnish you with the right knowledge on the differences between fine chocolate and the stocked chocolates on the shelves. You must be asking if you have taken fine chocolate or not. The Academy of Chocolate was founded in 2005 by five of Britain’s leading chocolate professionals, united in the belief that eating fine chocolate is one of life’s great pleasures. The Academy campaigns for better chocolate and to promote a greater awareness of the difference between fine chocolate and the mass-produced chocolate confectionery which most of us eat.
